GROMBACHER & BLACK
Aspen Black is a singer/songwriter, cowgirl poet, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and award-winning horsewoman. Fans describe her voice as “mesmerizing”, and her songwriting and poetry as “outstanding” and “spot-on”. Aspen’s CD, "Born to be a Cowgirl" is a 2024 ISSA Finalist for Female Album of the Year, her song of the same name won the Western Writers of America 2024 Spur Finalist Award for Best Western Song, and peaked at #1 on the IWMA western radio charts. Her original song, "What if There's a Heaven" won the 2023 IWMA Songwriting contest Gospel category and she was a 2023 Top-Five Finalist for IWMA Female Performer of the Year and songwriter if the Year. Her “Lovin’ the West” won the 2017 Rural Roots Music Commission’s Classic Western CD of the Year and her “Eastern Western Cowgirl” CD won the 2015 Rural Roots Music Commission Female Country-Western CD of the Year. She was a 2015, 2016, and 2017 Top-Five finalist for IWMA Female Poet of the Year, a 2016 and 2015 Top-Five finalist for IWMA Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year, a 2016 Top-Five finalist for IWMA Poetry Book of the Year, and overall winner of the “Country Singer” contest at the 2016 National Traditional Country Music Association Festival.
Kerry Grombacher plays guitar and mandolin. His original song, Range of the Buffalo, was the 2021 IWMA song of the Year. His songs have been featured on the ABC-TV adventure travel show, “Born to Explore,” and on the Putumayo World Records CD “Cowboy Playground,” which was released in over 60 countries. He has released five albums of original songs, and his songs have been recorded by a list of artists that includes Jim Jones, Belinda Gail, The Texas Trailhands, Gary Prescott, and Trails & Rails.
